Individual Psychotherapy

If you’ve found yourself facing a challenging season in life and trying to navigate an unknown terrain of anxiety, depression and trauma, you are not alone. Sometimes, these challenges may present themselves in the form of persistent rumination, nightmares, insomnia and emotional dysregulation. Other times, they also present themselves in the body through various physical symptoms, such as tremors, palpitations, and breathlessness. Whatever these symptoms are, they can be understood as ways that the body is telling us which trigger points to pay attention to. This is an opportunity to tune into what our inner selves are trying to say, and ask ourselves, “what happened to me” instead of “what’s wrong with me?”. This process of self-understanding then allows us to formulate a plan in tending to the wounds that need attention.

Individual psychotherapy sessions can help guide you through these challenging terrain involving relationships, self-love, trauma, and inner peace, these sessions utilise varying types of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based psychotherapeutic practices.

Psychotherapy can be experienced individually or in groups, depending on the needs and goals of the client(s). Using attachment-based psychotherapy, mindfulness and a trauma-informed framework, these sessions can deepen an awareness of bodily responses to past trauma, improve self-esteem and self-awareness and unveil cognitive insights about oneself.

Allow yourself to be engaged in this practice and partake in an intentional and authentic form of expression to process difficult seasons in life. You are not alone in tuning into what your inner self may have to say. Allow the process to guide, heal and speak to you.

All materials are provided in weekly psychotherapy sessions. Clients will be able to experience different avenues of psychotherapy and a review will be conducted every 8 sessions. With consistency and gradual development in mind, it is recommended to experience weekly sessions for at least 8 sessions.

The first session is used for introduction and to get a better idea of what your needs are. Thereafter, I will co-plan the treatment goals with you. Examples of these goals can be: identifying negative patterns, acknowledging emotions, regulating emotions, building self-love and improving interpersonal relationships. This session also serves as a space for questions about therapy to be answered.
