Resonance of a heartbeat
The human heart beats approximately 4000 times an hour. Each two-part pulse an ancient psalm sung by our predecessors— a ceaseless corporeal song. This inner lullaby sings of our vulnerability and strength, of our divinity and mortality, of our solitude and connection. Fluttering, thumping, driving, pounding, pumping, pulsing through dreams and nightmares, through pain and pleasure.
If your heart could speak, what would it say with each pause and pulse? Would it weep or whisper, would it grieve and mourn? Or would it hammer at the walls of its chambers and beg to be heard?
If your heart could speak, how often have you doubted, denied or drowned out its voice? When did you last ask yourself what you really felt and what wisdom your intuition had to offer? Instead, how easily have you sought the opinions of others or listened to the chatter of unrealistic expectations, catastrophic worries and distorted thinking?
Each gallop of the heart is a fervent invocation for us to listen to an inner voice that is alive, divine, resilient and responsive. Are you conscious and mindful in this journey? Where are you headed and where are you now?
What do you truly desire? Do these decisions and actions have the intention of supporting you? Is this meal nourishing for you? Are your relationships authentic and loving?
I invite you to be open to hearing to that inner voice, to learn to hold compassion for yourself when you are experiencing challenging emotions, to recognise your own needs and honour your boundaries while connecting with others. Together, we can embark on a journey of understanding, witnessing, validating and honouring your being— to give and receive authentic love to yourself and others.
